Splash Park/splash pad

I have seen these in other areas but none around Waldorf. Anyone know of one of these. They are great and the threat of drowning is nill. Even disabled and older people can cool off. How about one in White Plains somewhere??? With all the people and kids in and around Waldorf there's nothing like this or a "public" indoor or outdoor good size pool.

You could take them to Laurel and D.C... Plenty of 'water' to play in there:whistle:

North Point has an olympic regulation size poll and it's open to the public.

Went there last Sat. Very nice but the area for the kids, say 3 1/2 to 4 ft. is so small. Look at all the kids there are in Waldorf. I know a lot of people have neighborhood pools but for those who don't?? I really like the splash parks because for the little ones you don't worry about deep water.

I am with you, I came from Northern Virginia and there were plenty of these, I think there needs to be one in the Tri-County area.

You should have moved to St. Mary's. We have a splash park and a public pool... :ohwell:

I saw the one in St.Mary's but its an hour? from Waldorf. I too came from Alex. many years ago and lived walking distance from Lee District park. LARGE indoor pool that had access to outdoor too. This place had indoor pool tables, raquetball courts, private exercise rooms, etc. Residence just paid a small fee or could buy a pass. I like Thomas Stone too but every time we go there the bottom tears holes in your toes and feet. They said they redid it but our toes were tore up. Also small. What happened to town pools (yes, orig. from the country) that were open to everyone.

I live right around the corner from that pool. Very nice but sooo expensive. The first four years its about $400 per year. We joined one year after being on a waiting list for two and ended up going about three time. The rest it was bad weather. Thats some expensive swimming. Now I hear he has openings he can't fill. They should really think about the fee. I would like to know how to make a suggestion to the county about a splash park though. I do daycare and a lot of ladies would love it.

Where is this Splash Park and public pool?

Spray park is part of Nicolet Park on Willows Road. St Mary's County Pool is next to Great Mills High School.
