Melwood, one of the leading nonprofit organizations serving people with differing abilities in the eastern United States, is sponsoring a series of 7-day retreats for eligible veterans and active duty military! Operation: Tohidu retreats are designed to address the specific needs of veterans and active duty service members who have been formally diagnosed or are self-reporting with deployment-related trauma.
Operation: Tohidu's experiential rehabilitation program focuses on confidence-building, outdoor activities, and group discussion in a relaxed, positive environment using proven techniques for the self-management of symptoms, stressors and responses. Retreat activities include: PTS(d) education, exercise, experiential learning, neurofeedback, spiritual experiences and skills training.
Melwood's 108-acre Retreat Center in Nanjemoy, Maryland offers an intimate atmosphere where participants connect and share struggles related to battle trauma and injuries. Programming is guided by a board certified psychologist, and highly trained recreational support professionals who strategically implement activities that highlight and strengthen individual abilities, leading to an overall improvement in quality of life.
Operation: Tohidu retreats are paid for eligible participants. Airfare, local transportation, lodging, activities, meals and instructional materials are included.
