Spotting/Field scopes - any recommendations?

I'm looking to pick up a powerful spotting scope for wildlife viewing in Yellowstone in a few weeks. There is a very wide variety on the market.

Any combination of scope/tripod/case for between $600 - 1,000 is in my price range.

Any specific recommendations or preferences?

Thanks. This will be our 10th trip to Yellowstone, including three times snowmobiling, and we usually just pack binoculars.

I did not even know they rented them.
