Horse camps in St. Mary’s
Two spring break horse camps will be held at Greenwell State Park in St. Mary’s County later this month. The first will run March 17 to 20 and the second is scheduled for March 25 to 28. This is for children, ages 7 to 13, as an introduction to horseback riding and horse care. Non-riders and beginner-level riders are welcome. Daily riding lessons plus the kids spending a majority of their time in and around the barn is the plan. Children of all abilities are welcome to attend.
The cost is $155 for members of the Greenwell Foundation and $175 for non-members. Discounts are available for a three-day stay.
Nine camping experiences will also be available at Greenwell this summer, starting on June 16 and running to Aug. 11 for kayak, horse and nature lovers. Those costs are generally in the range of $175 for members, and $195 to non-members.
