No need to drive all the way up to Brandywine, you only need to come as far as Hughesville VFD, to get your vehicle washed, Saturday from 10am to 3pm. You go to Brandywine and get your car washed it will just get all dirty coming back down Brandywine Rd. when you get stuck behind one of the many dump trucks that use that road.:jameo:
HVFD car wash is a fundrasier for the firehouse to help with expenses involved with hosting the Southern Maryland Firemens Convention and Parade that the Hughesville station will be hosting the first week in May. Same prices $5.00 cars and $10.00 trucks and SUV's.
Seriously though, come out and get your carwashed after all this snow and salt and mud thats out on the roads, the fire departments certainly can use your support, usually only takes a couple of minutes and you are out of there with a nice clean vehicle.
If Brandywine is closer to you thats great, get your vehicle looking nice for spring, it is just around the corner.

The Volunteer Fire Departments of Southern Maryland certainly appreciate your support.

I've about given up on these types of car washes. I like to support the local school groups, fire houses or scouts but every time I've had my car washed at one of these things, they do a TERRIBLE job. Last time it was done, it was by one of the Calvert High school groups(swimming team?)..and it was advertised as free, but they appreciate a donation. I gave them 20 up front and they didn't even dry the car afterwards, when I asked about that, all I got was eyerolls. Pretty pathetic. Its not that hard to do a decent job.

actually most of our members who help out during the car wash, spend hundreds of dollars on cleaning products themselves to clean their own cars with during the year, we not only just wash and dry we also spray tires with tire shine and vacumn everything. The first two washes we did early this year were from the two little snow storms that came through and we had lines wrapped around the station just to come in. Just like Hughesville, we are doing this for funds to support our everyday operations such as Apparatus, Equipment, other Fund Drives. We are also having a Fire Prevention and Recruitment Table set up for any interested persons or children, while they wait for their parents or their vehicle to be done. We have plenty of red plastic fire helmets, coloring books, pamphlets, and Stress Relieving Fire Trucks and Rubber Ducks donated by the PG County Volunteer Fire and Rescue Association. We also certainly appreciate any support even though we are not a Southern Maryland Volunteer Fire Department, we should be though with all the Mutual Aid calls we run with Charles County!

I don't doubt that yall do a good job, just that I've found most of these types of things I've run across are less about doing a good job and more about getting into your pocket. Kudos to yall if you do it right.
