Thanks for the info. I just spent quite some time un-covering a nasty Browser Hijack, on my home machine.

You go into the CNET forum page, there is an article about those too, to include the blank:page home page virus and how to get rid of it.

I use Spybot and it's great! Don't forget to use the Immunize function to prevent adware/spyware from being loaded in the first place.

Another forum member (woodchuck) recommended Microsofts' new Spyware removal tool, a beta release.

It found my problem, and cleaned it. Soon as I re-booted, the crap had re-installed itself. Had to scour the registry to find where the offending code was hiding.

I have an issue I have no clue what to do with... I can't e-mail from my home PC at all. When I attempt to send out an e-mail I get a message saying I have been "blacklisted" because I had previously been hacked and used and abused by the Nigerian's.

What's a girl gotta do to fix that? :ohwell:

Just added another reason to the list of why I hate Microcrap stuff...

Spybot not only eliminates the adware from the computer, it scrubs it out of the registry also.

One of the things that CNET mentioned was starting up in safe mode PRIOR to doing the scan, prevents the crap from reloading AS you clean it.. But some of them like "purple Gorilla" Kazaam, you have to go into the registry to clean.. Google the names, and usually will take you to a page that will talk you through it.

'DO' a Nigerian?

IF it's not an April Fool's joke, what do you use for your mail?? Outlook? Hotmail?
Outlook, but it also happens when I try to send from my SOMD.COM e-mail address... I'm pretty sure I'm being blocked at the ISP address. :ohwell:

If you know all your account settings for your e-mail, go into Outlook Options and look to see if anything has been changed.. like your e-mail server name. password.. username.. etc..

I don't know if this will do anything if it is an IP block, but you can release and renew your IP address..
Go to Start, RUN, type in "cmd" ENTER (without the quotes) should open up a "dos" window Type in "ipconfig" ENTER this will show you all your IP infor.. Then type in "ipconfig /release" ENTER
Then "ipconfig /renew" I THINK if it's dynamic, it ay get you a different IP address.. but I'm not sure, it's been a couple of years since I had to play with that.
