squeaky toys

I'm glad I don't make squeaky noises when squeezed. If I did, my dog would have destroyed me years ago.

Seriously though, why do dogs love the squeaky noise?

Because it's fun. I like to chase Apollo with the squeaky toy, then he chases me to try and get it back. It's more fun than chasing him with the rawhide bone.

I got my dog a squeaky pig toy the other day, doesn't really squeak, but makes a sound like a moose in heat. :killingme At first she was afraid of it, now she constantly squeezes it. I may have to put it up for a while.

Because if they catch a living creature and chomp on it, it will squeal or sqeak.

I was thinking along those lines, but SQUEAKY is probably not that similar to dying animal sounds. Not that I think they need to start making toys that do make dying animal sounds.

We kept the squeaker out of one of her destroyed toys one time and would squeak it. She would freak out trying to find the mystery hidden toy. Bad owners.

You have obviously not heard a miniature schnauzer chomp on a mole just to make him squeak.

I'm still looking for a toy my 3 yr old Lab doesn't destroy in a day. :ohwell:
My dog generally doesn't like toys that he can't destroy, and the ones he can destroy are toast in less than five minutes. The only toy he likes that he's allowed to have is a tough tire I bought at Old Navy years ago. He hates kongs.

That's how she is. We bought one of those huge tug of war ropes. My two love to play with it but the second shes able to, she lays down and starts chewing it to shreds. I cannot leave anything in her reach or its destroyed ( toy wise). She had a tire as well ( not old navy) may have lasted a couple days. Maybe I should just give her a brick

The squirrel that the neighbors dog caught in my yard the other day was most definitely squeaking

Just like the rabbits our beagles catch in the yard. They must not be made real well though because they only squeak a few times.:ohwell:

He also likes to toss his toys, so a big knotted rope or tire to the face is never fun. :lmao: A few years ago my husband switched out the tires on his car and we still had the old ones for awhile. Yeah, the dog was carrying an actual tire around the backyard. :roflmao:

The toys that have the little plastic squeaker are ok but the toys that have really loud, built in squeakers - both when the air is drawn in AND out - those are banned from our house.

The dogs primarily like to play with their squeaky toys when we are either watching something serious on tv or are actually speaking with someone over the telephone...... :cds:

If you want at least 15 minutes of laughs, trying sticking one of the straight rawhide rolls into their collar. Then tell them to get it. If I could stop laughing long enough I would tape and send it into AFV

Have you tried these?

SOFT-FLEX Toys - Hueter Toledo, Inc

My dog will destroy anything with a squeaker in it. But the squeaker is molded into the ball, so all he does is lay there and lick the squeaker hole for hours. He really likes the Bumpy ball and the Clutch ball. They wear out way before they can be destroyed.

He also likes to stomp the crap out of them just to make them squeak.

Good Luck with that! And if you find one let us know, please. I have been trying to find the time to get some canvas or denim, layer it up and fill it with the remaining pieces of the toys left on the floor to see if that would last longer.

I love watching her play with her squeaky toys. She puts the duck in her mouth and waits for me to say "Kill Ducky!" and she starts shaking it back and forth and running around like a maniac and growling. I love love love it. If only I could get this to traslate to people I didn't like.

My dog was shredding all her toys, but her latest duck seems to be lasting longer than ususual. She was toy free for a couple of months after she shredded all her christmas presents within a month. Maybe the time without toys caused her to appreciate her new ones better? We also buy the nylon ducks which are harder for her to tear apart. I'm happy if a toy lasts a month or 2. Lastest stuffing free duck has been going on for 2 months now.

I don't let her have balls in the house anymore because that becomes a game of human fetch it from under the couch. I don't let her have ropes inside because of the way she whips them around. She'd break something for sure.
