Thank you for the recommendations. I will file them for future reference. I loved the video. As I was typing the post, my husband was setting the have-a-heart trap. In two hours, a nice plump squirrel was lured by the bait. So far there has not been anymore activity in the eaves. Maybe we will be lucky and the nuisance is gone.

Take that squirrel somewhere on the other side of a body of water before you let it go. We have some friends who trapped a pesky squirrel with a very recognizable damaged ear, turned it loose a few miles away, and trapped the same one again not many weeks later.

Believe me, i know about squirrels. Its best to cover the trap with a blanket and transport them at night. Even across a body of water thry can find their way home. The night and being covered over part disorients them and they cant figure out where you took them.

Go to any pet store chain on a Saturday. Adopt a cat (maybe two). Take home. Open ceiling hatch. Toss cat(s) into attic. Shut hatch. Listen for appropriate noises. Much like popcorn, action will build then slow down. Once done with death noises, open ceiling hatch and collect your cat(s). Take back to pet store chain. Say you're not a cat person.
