SSD Drive

Just sneakin' around....
My laptop has been running slower and slower, and while I was on travel I heard the HDD spinning down, spinning up and clicking. I knew it wasn't long for the world. Successfully backed everything up (surprisingly....) and limped thru the week. Today I looked up the specs of my laptop so I could get a compatible SSD drive. Turns out the laptop has a built-in slot for an M.2 SSD (NVMe). Went up to Best Buy and found a compatible 500Gb NVMe SSD by Western Digital for $65. Cheap... :twitch: Inserted the SSD and the laptop found it fine. Downloaded a free utility, Macrorit Partition Expert Free Edition which initializes and does clone copy. 1st attempt to clone the HDD failed, bad sectors. Tried it again, worked. Booted fine from the new NVMe SSD and the performance is fast. Boot to login screen is 10 seconds. Wake up from sleep to login screen is under 5 seconds. Used to have to wait forever.

Sorry I waited so long to go SSD.
