Yes, they are rebuilding the lighthouse. The walls are up and the roofing phase should be starting soon. The progress so far looks great (from my house). They are accepting volunteers to help with the construction.

A girl I work with, her husband is doing the block work. She took a lot of pics and sent some to me. Gumby, I can send them to ya from work. It looks like it's 4 stories high. It's supposed to be under roof and almost finished by the Blessing of the Fleet.

This is just a rumor so please don't quote me on this but I heard that once the lighthouse is done they are going to put a Wal Mart, Sonic, WaWa and a Go Cart track over there too....Just what I heard....

And they are going to have ferry service to and from Colonial Beach...






They want to light the light the Friday night of the Blessing (Osprey Ball).
