It has been awhile, but tonight BG comes home it's dark and neither feel like cooking OR driving all the way to California to get something to eat.
So she suggests St James, and I'm not going to cook so I agree.. thinking, well, I'm hungry, a cheeseburger would be ok.
They had an extensive specials menu, lots of seafood.. (anyone that has been there knows their regular menu is VERY small)..
But I ordered my standby, a dozen wings, fried oyster off of the specials wall menu, and BG orders an Oyster Stew, and butter and garllic shrimp.
It was all VERY good. Crispy wings, with VERY hot sauce on the side. FRESH great tasting FAT oysters, cripsy, done PERFECTLY.. BG's shrimp came out VERY good (I stole more than two of them) and even the Oyster Stew was VERY good.
The only complaint we could have tonight was there wasn't enough oysters in the stew, but hey, it was 7 PM at a primary lunch joint, I'll give them a pass on that one.
The Corona was exceptionally good.
What was sad, as good as the food was, most of the time we were there we were by ourselves.
