St. Mary's Co. Transfer Stations

Does anybody have an inside scoop whether the transfer stations would/are open during this county gov't shutdown? All I see mentioned is administration building and offices are closed. Don't know if transfer stations are considered essential.

As of Friday and from the article: • "The six convenience centers and the St. Andrew's Landfill will continue normal operations until further notice."
Thank you. My recycle bin is 3 weeks deep and he has a bunch of oil that needs to go. And then there's the trash...

Thanks SG but the link you posted is dated March 20th. Starting tomorrow, Monday the 23rd. County govt is shutting down. The article doesn’t state anything as detailed as the link you posted. That’s why I’m unsure about the transfer stations. The article is on smnewsnet. I can’t post the link from my phone for some reason.

I didn't know that I'm sorry. My whole social life revolves around going to the dump. They're going to be closed or you're not sure yet? I have to head down there in a few - I could ask.
Oh sweet. If you’re going could you ask? I can’t go until tomorrow

This is probably not a great answer, but the man at Ridge Landfill said they haven't heard a thing from the government and he is planning on coming to work tomorrow. According to him, they are going to be open.
Better than no answer at all. Thank you much for asking.

Unless they find flies can carry the virus from person to person, I think the dump and transfer stations are safe zones.

* It's an airborne virus, not transmitted by flies
