All this talk about Chik-Fil-A and boycotts made me hungry. So after my meeting I stopped for a Spicy Chicken and diet Dr. Pepper.

See Citizens v. United, from a career standpoint, it basically guarantees I will always have a job in politics.

Thanks, though if you're under the illusion that only liberals debate like monkeys throwing feces -- take another look around. From terms like "goddamn moslems" to "annoying college kids" to "hairy butch looking chicks," this conservative crowd isn't exactly setting the standard for civility.
C'mon Dave lighten up. We're open to civl discussion, but try to vet newcomers to weed out the BS. I was just poking fun at a first time poster that tried to belittle us, and sound "intellectual" while using bad grammar.

:buddies:

So far, you seem like a good guy. I hope you stay around for a while.

Did you get the "extra straight meal combo"?
LOL. Funny coinkydink..sorta. On another forum I belong to, one of the regulars proudly showed off his new NewBeetle VW...yes, complete with the flower vase.

We've been having a friggin wisecrackers field day with him and all the ghey inferences we can possibly find or make up. Who knew there was actually a forum for gay beetle owners?? Not me..until I found it today.

I think his new v-dub might even be back up for sale already. People can be so cruel.:killingme

participatory democracy, democracy... LMAO, democracy when it's convient for the left, otherwise we should ignore elections....

Let's see we have the President, the Vice President, John Kerry and Nancy Pelosi all on record bemoaning the republican party listening to the tea party because of some damn election. I mean if a member of congress represents the tea party, well then they don't have a shared moral goal as the rest of us so we need to ignore the outcome of that election.

I'm sure you remember the Townhouse Green riot incident and the Guatemala kidnapping.
:killingme Yes, I certainly do, though the riot incident is a bit fuzzy around the edges. I am proud to say that I survived the evening without getting on the recieving end of any pepper spray, or spending the night in the county lockup.

I still consider the Gov Cup race parties, circa '85-95 period or therabouts, as the school's crowning achievements. Boy were those 'wide open, no holds barred' events. I still get the DTs just thinking about those times.
I will forever regret that I didn't bother to hang out on campus over the summers until my "super senior" semester. I just went home and worked, while the smart people figured out reasons to stay on campus (jobs, research projects, etc). My first gov cup was enlightening.

NOT Politically Correct!!
Because it's part of a bigger picture and attitudes that prevail. "I don't like it, therefore YOU shouldn't be able to have it." Very similar to PETA or any other activist group trying to inflict their own morals and biases on the rest of the world.

If you don't like CFA, don't eat it. Isn't that what they say about offensive TV programming - if you don't like it, don't watch it? But just because you don't like it doesn't mean you have a right to take it from me.
Thanks Vrai, saved me some typing!!! :buddies:

...I'm not sure if any of you have REALLY visited St. Mary's from the way you're talking about the school. Most everything you've said to describe the students, faculty, staff, and ideals is pretty much the opposite from what it is in reality. That might be townie stereotyped view of the school, but it's definitely not what the school is truly like.

I'm going to join in this smiley idiocy and post one that is a perfect example of most of your all's behavior to this subject --> :cds:

Also, please check your grammar and spelling first before you rip on a bunch 17-21 year old kids that are striving to get a much more higher and rigorous education than the rest of you seem to have had.
Many of us are in positions to hire you for your spelling ability, not necessarily for your leadership, common sense, experience, and proven job performance. You CAN be replaced by spell checker if you really want to cop an attitude! :dye:

We were both there for that. Interesting times. Fortunately those were pretty much the worst events to occur while we were there (for the most part)

You may have noticed that this isn't exactly debate club. Sometimes we try; most of the time, not so much.

A little uppity and self righteous aren't you? Townies?

Is that the best descriptor of a "local yokel" you can come up with? Do you have ANY knowledge of the community outside of your little utopian commune/college campus?

If you did you'd know the "townies" you speak of well exceed the national average in college degrees, and graduate degrees, but I guess that would fly in the face of you being better. than us townies.

Maybe you should have picked a college in a better community than ours, don't let the door hit you on the way out.
