Loving My Life...
Exactly. And if you don't feel safe doing it, don't. Especially don't make it your job. A bus driver should know what he's doing on the road in the off chance of any situation that may occur. If someone hits the bus, that's another story, but a car wouldn't usually do much damage to a bus.
No one is Perfect. Look at the cops. All that training and they still get into accidents, run into people... Stop dissing the bus drivers..

No, of course no one's perfect. That doesn't excuse the excessive school bus accidents we have here. Show some concern for the poor kids that have to risk that, they don't even require seat belts. I think it's horrendous that children have to worry about that. I asked my mom to start taking me to school when I was in HS because my driver was so bad. Don't get me wrong, I know there ARE good drivers out there - but there are far too many not up to par in my opinion.

Excessive?

They are safer on the bus then you think.

:yeahthat: She's made a smart decision. Wish everyone else would do the same.
I've read too many news stories where epileptics that haven't had a seizure in years convulse at the wheel and kill themselves and/or someone else. I have them every couple of months, I'd be terrified. The cold in the morning makes me have jerks, I can't imagine trying to hold the wheel still getting into the car to go to work.

Yeah trust me, I worked in auto claims for 10 years. I've seen many of those accidents over the years. Talk about scary!

When my Dad's health began to go downhill quick (cancer had recently spread to his brain), my Mom was driving from NY to PA (6 hr trip) and my Dad was in the passenger seat. Thank God she refused to let him drive (after much argument from him) because for the first time in his life, he had a seizure. To make matters worse, this happened on a crowded highway. We thank God that he wasn't driving because he probably would have killed himself and other innocent people.

You just sit there and complain. :yay:
I don't have a choice, it's completely irrelevant. God strike me down for showing concern for people that drive and their passengers. Including myself. I don't want to frickin die because someone is out on the road in weather they don't know how to drive in properly.

But some people don't have a choice.
I won't lie. I've been one of the drivers on the roads when there was a state of emergency declared. About 5 years ago, it was all over the news that nobody except emergency vehicles was allowed to drive. Any other driver on the road would be issued a ticket if caught by the cops. That's how bad the roads were.

Well, the wonderful company I worked for NEVER closed even though there were 9 other offices that could have handled the calls for the NY office for the day/night. We were all told that if we didn't come to work, we'd be written up and possibly terminated because we were part of management and had to get there no matter what. Best part is......I worked for a major insurance company. You'd think they'd be even more cautious about their employees being on the road? I told the Regional VP that if I got a ticket, he was going to pay for it. Jackazzes!!!!!

Right, but I'm referring to the school buses, cops, ems, SHA, county, smeco, etc they really don't have a choice. I am thankful for them and glad I don't have to be out in this.

Oh gotcha, I agree. I'm much happier being nice and warm here. Once the cold weather comes, I'd rather just stay indoors. I feel for those who have to work outside in the crappy weather.

Have you explored diet changes to help manage? A family member was on Phenobarbitol for years to control his epilepsy, with some changes in his diet he has been seizure free for about 15-20 years.:yay:

On another note, it is hard to train people to drive in weather like this, pretty hard to simulate.
