So how is everyone celebrating since you can't go to a bar and drink green beer? I'm doing what I do every year: drinking iced tea and watching The Five.

Getting ready to fire up the Weber and cook some chops. I was invited for corned beef and cabbage, but now they've decided to tenderize the corned beef with papaya. No meal is worth a constricted airway. I passed on the CB and C...

Not going out, not having a big corned beef dinner. No drinking either. #boring

I bought a 6 pack of Guinness. Going to have one tonight. It is big deal for me because I am a true beer lover but the wifey watches me like a hawk due to the 'betes. It will be my first beer since last St. Paddy's Day.

Wife and I were discussing the purchase of Guinness for the cooking of the CB&C. I mentioned a six pack and she said, why not only buy one, we only need one, right? So, after getting the eight pack,,,,,,,, :) It's in the instant pot now with onions, garlic, and the pickling spices.

Want four more? I'm halfway through drinking one - just noticed there's a really nasty aftertaste. Think I'm done.
Kind of yeasty? That's the way I remembered them, but I enjoyed that for some odd reason.

right there with you - well in that virtual social distancing sort of way

I'm not big on corned beef and cabbage anyway. Not sure how that became an "Irish" meal.
It's really a potato and a six pack.

Representative traditional Irish dishes include Irish stew (made with lamb, mutton, or beef), bacon and cabbage (with potatoes), boxty (potato pancake), coddle (sausage, bacon, and potato), colcannon (mashed potato, kale or cabbage, and butter), and, in Ulster,
Ulster is more British, go hifreann leis an Sasamach

This is what popped up in my FB memories from last year - we had smoked corned beef. (better known as Pastrami!) 146361

A good use for all the corned beef the stores probably have in sale right now!! (y)
