Starting A Web-Based Business

:shrug:I did a little research into starting a web-based business from home, just as something to do the other night besides watch TV.

I found this one site that basically said, "Yes, you too can make money using the internet." It presented testemonials from folks to supposedly make 5 figures a month, give or take. So I thought, 'what can it hurt to look into it?' I received an e-mail from an individual who 'nutshelled" the process.
To me, it sounded a little like the AMWAY thing.

In this e-mail I received it said; to paraphrase; 'you can make money using our system on a full time basis or part-time basis.' 'If you are looking to work for yourself and not for someone else....etc., etc.." Basically, anyone who follows this home-based business system can make as much or as little money as he/she wants.

I'm apprehensive about this but at the same time I'm in a dead-end job and I've almost got 20 years in. I'm not going anywhere in my current job, so I'm debating the 'why not?' :shrug:aspect.

"Buyer Beware" does this sound like something you many have heard in the past. There are many different things that people can do to make money but I am going to recommend a book to you. "40 days to the work you love" go read that and you'll be fine

I recently signed up to start my own business. It is under Quixtar/Amway Global. Yes, I already know, Amway!!! But it really is more than that. It is also Nutrilite products (sugar free and full of vitamins). It seems pretty legite to me. If you are interested, send me a PM and I will tell you more. They have so many products available.

What is the name of the Business and I'll look it up.
------------------------------------------
There wasn't a business name. I sent an e-mail that was associated with a website; that I didn't bookmark; got a reply from a woman who gave me a commercial PH# and wanted me to call her to get set up. I was also instructed to get a debit card since I don't have credit cards anymore. When I asked why I needed a debit card I was told it was necessary to purchase learning materials.

The last time I spoke with this person, [she] had called [me] and wanted me to let her know when I had my debit card.

Yeah, sounded shady to me too. That's why I haven't called this person back.

Quixtar.....I've heard that before; a few years back. Is that something that is web-based now and you can run it as a home business or do you have to travel all over Helllandgone and attend or hold seminars?

I'm looking for a home business using the internet [to make money] instead of it [costing] me money. I mean, I pay a cable bill to have high speed internet access and all [that] seems to do is go UP.

I'm not trying to sound stupid but this is a deejay service this gent owns? Does he set you up with the equipment and you work [for him] or does he set you up with the equipment and just take a percentage of what you make.

(Maybe I should read this a little better later) Think I'll do that.

Get rich without any education or effort. Sounds like a plan. Have you ever heard "if it's too good to be true...."

A number of those web based businesses you see on TV that do not advertise who they are, and still don't on their web site?

They're Shaklee. You can look them up.

Is Shaklee akin to AMWAY? You basically become a distributor of their products that they send to you; I'm guessing at cost; and then you sell them at some pre-determined profit? Or is it something else.

It is web based. They do have meetings in Waldorf of Monday nights. You are welcome to come on Monday if you would like to learn more. It is held at the Hampton Inn behind Carraba restuarant at 8:00 PM. If that doesn't work for you, PM me and I can set up a meeting with you to get more info. The idea behind it is that you make a percentage of orders that are directed through the Quixtar website. Yes, you should meet with potential customers to discuss the various items that are available.

That doesn't sound web-based

Once the customer sees and tries some of the products, they will be able to order them online and have them delivered to their door. You earn profits from what they order.

It's web-based for the customer, but you gotta constantly meet with new clients to keep the money rolling in and meet with the old ones to convince them to keep buying?
