LEONARDTOWN, MD - February 14, 2020. Defendant Jonathan McLain Barnes (D.O.B. 01/31/1992) was sentenced to twenty (20) years in prison, the maximum penalty, for his involvement in an armed robbery with the use of a handgun. Deputy State's Attorney Jaymi Sterling prosecuted the case. State's Attorney Richard Fritz would like to thank Deputy SA Sterling, Detective Austin Schultz and the members of the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Department for the successful investigation and prosecution of this case.

Defendant Marlaena Rochelle Bethea (D.O.B. 06/05/1973) was convicted of voluntary manslaughter and was sentenced to the maximum penalty of ten (10) years in prison for her involvement with the killing of her brother.
