Witnesses told police Knight exited the building while making threats of mass violence and threatening to return to the facility. He then left the scene in a car.

While continuing the investigation, troopers from the North East Barrack applied for an arrest warrant. Although there is no known threat to Maryland, State Police remind Marylanders of the important role they have in helping to keep our state safe by reporting to police suspicious situations or circumstances that could be related to crime or possible acts of violence or terrorism.

Police resources work around the clock to keep our state safe and are standing by to act on information about suspicious circumstances. Citizens are reminded to stay vigilant and avoid the tendency to ignore what could be information vital to law enforcement efforts to prevent a crime or terrorist act.
