Step-parent praise

But wait, there's more...
People are always biatchin' about their exes and their kids' step parents, so I'd like to turn the tables and give a public shout-out to the few, the rare, the not-a-POS step parent.

DQ's stepmom called me up tonight and offered to come all the way up here (from their place in GA) on Friday to pick DQ up for the 3-day weekend since she's off for the day vs. having me drive down and meet them half-way. :faint: How awesome is she!

Yes, I thanked the hell outta her directly, as well! :lmao:

Lucky you, Crab. It really does make a difference when the steps aren't buttheads.

If Bebe Mama were here, she'd shout out for her step-parent. As it stands, I'll shout out for her

I think she just wants to see your house.

:roflmao: She already did at Christmas when they drove up to get her on their way to Indiana. She's picking her up at school this time because I have to be on the other side of NC at 2 p.m. I was debating whether I'd end up taking DQ with me and heading south from there, or coming back here and then going down. Either way, it was gonna be pretty late till I got back home from all the driving, which I wasn't looking forward to.

Maybe I'll get her a gift cert for Sephora or someplace as a way of saying 'Thanks'! :yay:

:yeahthat: If there's one thing I've learned since he and I divorced, it's the priceless value of having an amicable relationship with him, and now his wife. He still does stuff to piss me off from time to time (e.g., the times he doesn't follow through on his promises to DQ, but even that's happening less now that they live closer), but outside of that, we all get along pretty good, and keep DQ's needs at the forefront. In fact, while she and I were yakking last night, we were talking about DQ and I meeting them in Atlanta for a race later this year.

Divorce and co-parenting is much easier when you let go of the past and remain focused on the future. :yay:

You guys are really lucky, My brother-in-law is remarried and his new wife treats the kids terrible. She has decided she wasn't meant to be a step mom. They only have the kids every other weekend but she will not be involved with them at all. Heck she didn't even go to Christmas with them. me and my H don't like the way she treats them at all. I mean she knew her now husband had kids before she married him. Their good kids too. Luckily their mom picked a great step-dad for them.

Sounds like my dad's ex girlfriend from way back when. Luckily, she was kicked to the curb.

Drama Queen. I've been in little K's presence for all of ten minutes, and the name fits. Sorry CC. :huggy:
