Stinky Fridge

Briefly left some raw shrimp in an uncovered bowl in the fridge last week. Mistake. Stunk up the whole fridge, and even a week after removing the shrimp, it still stunk. Found the smell was in everything porous, like cardboard egg containers. Cleaned up whatever I could, but it was still pretty nasty.

Did a quick search online, and activated carbon was mentioned a lot for fridge odors. Went to the aquarium filter section of PetSmart, found activated charcoal in mesh bags, 2 per box. Hung them in the fridge with 2 new boxes of baking soda. 3 hours later the smell is almost gone.

Fresh coffee grounds hung in a tube sock inside the fridge works good too.
