anybody ever build one? I am nervously getting ready to start my first build. I have wood working experience and all the tools but I have never done a boat. Any words of wisdom? T/Y

Oh heck yes. Whose design are you using. H. H. Dynamite Payson's?..Phil Bolgers?...a smaller craft?

Constant-camber stitched boats are almost impossible to get wrong as long as you cut each piece accurately. What epoxy are you planning to use?

Perfect 10 , Mini Tugboat Plans, Tugboat Plans

It it a 10' tug that I want to build for my grand nieces/nephews/children to use on a small quiet lake in NY. I have looked at the others from Glen-L and like them but this just seems a better choice for "Build 1". If this goes alright, I really want to build an 18-20' fishing boat for myself. I need to start small to see if I am capable and if I really want to tackle a larger boat. As far as epoxy material choice, I think for a starter boat I'll just buy the kit from Glen-L or Berkeley. Good idea? Do you have recommendations?

I followed the link to their website and fell in love with that thing immediately. I am SO glad I read this thread.

Are you going to build one? If so, I'll wait for you to get started so you can tell me what mistakes you make along the way so I can avoid them! :buddies:

After further study, I'm frankly scared off by the need for a building in which to build the boat, the need for fiberglassing the boat (with all the attendant messing around with epoxy and cloth and solvents), and the cost of some of the nicer kinds of wood which I might choose to use. So I've all but decided not to build the boat, but it sure is cool, and building it could be a lot of fun and definitely would be a very rewarding experience.

Just spray it with this, your boat could leak like a screen door and this will seal it.....:buddies:
