Please be on the lookout for Nikon camera gear, stolen tonight from a white GMC Sierra pickup parked in the front row of Hulas's in California, Md. My Tamrac backpack, black and blue in color containing a Nikon D300 body, Nikon 17-55 F/2.8 lens, Nikon 70-200 F/2.8 lens, Nikon 50mm F/1.8 lens, Nikon SB-600 flash, Nikon reversing ring, three 16 gb Sandisk Extreme III CF memory cards, once 8gb Lexar Pro cf memory card, various filters, chargers, cleaners, and such were in the bag. Also stolen were a friends ipod and sunglasses.

The management and security helped check car interiors and call the STM SO, but nothing was recovered.

Any info is greatly appreciated, i'll do what i can to reward the return of my gear.

From the greatest high to a terrible low in a few short days. :ohwell:

Have you checked pawn shops and related places also? It will have to turn up somewhere because I doubt some punk really wants to explore the beauty of photography. Just pray it doesn't get taken to D.C. or that may be the end of it.

Good luck.

Thanks everyone.

hvp, it just happened last night, between 10:15/10:30pm and 1am. I plan on checking pawn shops, just need to figure out how many there arein the area. Dont believe Calvert has any, i know STM has a few.

Thanks. Not marked, but I have the serial numbers for the camera, lenses, and flash.

happy to be living
Thank you, it is definitely sickening.

It's been said a lot but I think this REALLY sucks.
Unfortunately, there are unscrupulous people out there that knowingly buy stolen goods and contribute to the problem. Not too long ago, I had someone approach me in public asking if I want to buy a car stereo. He went on about how he was having hard times and was selling all of his stuff. Did I believe him? NO. Did I buy it? NO
If I had a cell phone- I would have called the police and let them determine whether he was selling *his* car stereo or one he just snatched out of somebody elses car!

I hope you find your gear. I'd check craigstlist too. I'll keep an eye out about it and will tell others. I'm surprised you were down in cali. and not like the waldorf area. Stuff gets stolen here all of the time.
