This could bring anywhere etween 5 and 15 inches of rain to the area; Flash Flood watch is in effect for the entire area and lower-lying area are at significant risk for flooding.

I will be tracking the rainfall totals as well as th progress of Ernesto with my NOAA/NHC forecasting tools and with enhanced doppler radar.

So, you're gonna walk outside and look up at the sky just like the rest of us?

Yet that's still the most reliable local orecasting tool I have :lmao:

BREAKING NEWS FLASH FLOOD WARNING: Union County, N.C.

And it begins...

Reminder, if you caught in heavy downpours, seek shelter immedaetly as these could continue for hours unlike an verage thunderstorm. If you cannot see the road ahead of you, do not drive into it.

This storm is nearing land - would make landfall around 3:00 PM EST. It'll be a strong tropical storm with maximum sustained winds at 60-65 mph.

I don't think we will get a lot of it...maybe some rain and a little wind...we will get hit later in the season. Don't worry!

I'm just glad that we've been getting this very weak rain lately to soften up the soil. Otherwise, the heavy downpours would not soak in as quickly and it would all be runoff.

Looking at the hour-by-hour on weather.com, it looks like the heavy stuff starts tomorrow morning...

"I don't think the heavy stuff's gonna come for quite some time."--Carl Spackler :lmao:

We'll be getting the "OMFG it's raining "insert location here" " threads for the rest of the day and evening.
