Stove Top Stuffing Question

Hubby has a potluck coming up and he's been tagged to bring the stuffing.
Dingbat didnt realize that I'll be out of town so I can't make homemade stuffing for him. He will need something SIMPLE.
Has anyone ever made Stove Top Stuffing in the crockpot?
If so, please let me know if it turned out okay and how you did it.

TIA :flowers:

I have never made stuffing in the crock pot...

but, if you don't think this is too complicated, he can make stove top but substitute chicken stock or broth instead of water and then place the mixture into a muffin pan to bake and get all crispy. I saw Rachel Ray make them, she calls them stuffin muffins and they are good. I occassionally make them for my family instead of baking bread for dinner. They are super easy to make too!

And most people's "real stuffing" taste like dog barf...:dead: Stove Top stuffing is a safe bet and usually the first item to go at a pot-luck.

:yeahthat:

"Doctored up" Stove Top is a winner.

My sister's stuffing will kill you. :barf: My Mom's is just a wee bit better... smells great while cooking but...Ewww.

I am so very blessed
And most people who have no taste buds consider "real stuffing" to taste like dog barf...:dead: Stove Top stuffing is a safe bet and usually the first item to go at a pot-luck. Of course, these people probably also eat boxed mac & cheese, frozen dinners, hot dogs, and think squishy white Wonder bread is the schiznit.
Enough said.

My mom makes them! She already said shes making the stuffin' muffins. I dont like thanksgiving meals and Im working that day, so my hubby and kids will be eating mommas food.

 What's so hard about making good stuffing? Two cups of packaged stuffing (I never think about using real until it's too late), diced celery and onion, some Bell's seasoning. Saute the veggies in butter and a dash of Kosher salt until soft, not brown. Mix it into the stuffing using the amount of liquid called for (use chicken broth instead of water), add the Bell's and Kosher salt to taste. If you have fresh thyme or sage, dice it finely and add. You can either stuff the bird or bake it in a glass dish.

Ok, 2 cups is a small amount. I only cook for one.

nothin to it. he can even microwave it. Stove top was a regular staple for my dinners atleast once a week when I was married. tons of ways to kick it up. never thought about a crock pot though??? He could take the stuffing in in the box and get two cups hot water outa the water bubbler and it would be fine. Unless he has to wear a tinfoil helment he can handle stove top without a crockpot.

BTW i am taking zatarans blackeyed peas and rice for my potluck. of course it will be kicked up a notch.

That might be way too much for a stupid union worker to handle so i am not sure if i can pull that off.
