"SANTIAGO (Reuters) - A Chilean prostitute has auctioned 27 hours of sex to raise money for the country's largest charity during an annual fund-raising campaign.

Maria Carolina became an overnight celebrity in the conservative Roman Catholic country, making news headlines and appearing on talk shows since she made her unusual donation to the televised charity event, which runs for 27 hours starting on Friday evening."

Not sure of the laws in Chile concerning tax deductable donations (I could call a family member & find out) but prostitution is legal in Chile.

My comment was meant to be slightly humorous,sorry you missed the humor ,but yes ,as long as it isnt coming out of pocket. I dont have 27 hours of cash I can afford to donate ,but in fact I donate many hours to charity as do many others .I also donate gasoline and wear on my truck doing charitable things. I wont mention them here. The fact is many carpenters in the county donate many hours doing carpentry work for Christmas in April as do many painters, carpet layers and people in other occupations. Many Firefighters and Ambulance people all over the county donate many more than 27 hours, but I dont mean to knock her sacrifice , her heart is certainly in the right place

The donations I and others make may not be out of pocket ,but the work is just as valuable.

I applaud this lady ,but I wouldnt want to be the last guy in the 27th hour.
