Anyone know where this place is going in at? It has a Solomon's address but it looks like it is right beside Stoney's. Hopefully the website and menu will be available soon.:coffee:

The Striped Rock will be going into the building previously occupied
by Catamarans Restaurant in Solomons.

They have been completely remodeling the interior of the building for the last several weeks

My understanding is that is will be a restaurant on the 1st floor and finer dining on the 2nd floor with later evening hours. No nightclub.

The Striped Rock in Solomons -- the Foxy Fish in Mechanicsville. The old Copsey's will be the Foxy Fish. Saw it on the sign today.

Heard it's open, anyone been yet?

Went there for lunch, yesterday.
It was great all of us enjoyed our food.
Service was great, the waitstaff seems to cooperate with each other. They would stop by to see if you needed something while your person was serving another table.
Food came out promptly.
A little pricey, but you get what you pay for.

Looking forward to trying it out for dinner.

My daughter and I had lunch there a couple of weeks ago. I had the tarragon shrimp alfredo and it was delicious. She had the filet mignon and crab cake. The filet was awesome. The crab cake, not so much. Service was really good and friendly. Overall experience was very good. Will go back.

Seems like lunch is the time to go. we have gone there to dinner a few times and while the food is pretty tasty (the tarragon shrimp app is very good, and the truffled fries ARE SO GOOOOOD) the service is confusing at best. the other night we were sat at a table abadoned by other patrons after waiting too long..and still had their half empty water glasses on it..with no attempt made to remove them for several minutes until an embarassed waitress came around to grab them. our waitress was very lovely, pleasant and very nice but she seemed to be a little apologetic for the chaos that was the wait staff..someone brought us waters, then another someone brought us more..it was sort of confusing. Our food took a little long for what we ordered, btu ti was hot when we got it and it was pretty packed. All in all we will continue to go..but I am hoping they get a better manager at night who can make some sense of everyone.

We and another couple had a wonderful dinner out on the porch last night. Mussels and Crab Imperial Skins were delicious! My watermelon margarita was quite good and our waiter even had it "freshened up" for me during my meal. All of our entrees were great. Service was attentive and pleasant and they even sent us home with chocolate cake with bacon on it. :yum: Great experience. If you go Fri-Sun night ask for Michael.

See, I would have LOVED to try a margarita like that! But when LT and I went, we asked for a drink menu (bc the first time we went we waited at the bar and had some fun mixed drinks the bartender was serving) but this time, the waitress brought us this drink menu with only beer and wine on it. I couldn't remember the interesting mojito I'd tried last time but their drink menu was hardly a menu. You're not going to sell the money-making drinks if you don't create a nice menu to list them on for your guests.

The porch and view is wonderful, the food is delicious (although I heard a rumor their truffle fries are no longer "truffle"...I will be very disappointed if this is true) but the staff need some better management. I understand a new restaurant needs some time to adjust but its been a while now and management still seems to be an issue.

I agree they need to work on a drink menu. I just asked if they could make oen and he offered to ask the bartender. He also asked what my second choice would be. I think they have a full bar inside, so they should be able to handle most requests.
