Charles Co. Student in possession of cannabis and vaping device at La Plata High School

On January 22, a school administrator at La Plata High School discovered a student was in possession of a vaping device and 1.5 grams of cannabis. The vaping device tested positive for cannabis. The school resource officer charged the student, age 18, on a civil citation with possession of cannabis. The student also faces disciplinary consequences in accordance with the CCPS Student Code of Conduct. The CCSO urges parents to talk with their students about consuming products that could contain harmful and even deadly substances. Cpl. Duley is investigating.
