Ditch Metrocrap and keep the Verizon. I would rather have reliability verses speed any day!

Yeah, I have had Verizon DSL for at least 6 yrs. now and I might have had it go down maybe 3 times. I don't think I will change from the DSL till the new FIOS comes here, which will be a few years yet. :ohwell:

I'm not sure if I can even get verizon DSL at my place, last time I checked, which granted, it was quite some time ago, we couldn't get DSL. Our only option was metrocrap or satellite. I have the $60 a month verizon through my cell plan on top of what I pay for cable internet, but I have to have internet access at all times, it is not an option to not have connectivity.

It would be sweet if we ever got FIOS in the area. Until then, I will suffer and complain.

Another irritating aspect is that someone has to be home when they send out a technician, and of course you never get a timeframe that alots to hours, it's an all day waiting game, which would be fine if I didn't have a freakin job. And yeah, I can take the day off, but it just irritates me and feel like complaining about it. :jet:

Just go to Verizon | FiOS Internet and type in your phone number and it will tell you if broadband is available in your area. I do it on a regular basis so they know that I am sitting here chomping at the bit waiting for FIOS. If we all did it they might get the message that we want it out here.

Christy,

Did they have you do the ol' unplug/unplug power off, then replug back into the wall, back into the pc, then power up deal?

Sometimes on the weekend, they don't have you do even the simplest of testing (especially after storm issues and such) and just schedule workers.

Okay, that's all I have I think.

Oh, they also have a 24 hour HELP line (the no. should be on their website) and they might be able to help you, if that's not who you called already.

Okay, now I'm really done.
