First time a torpedo war shot used to sink an opponent since WWII. The footage is pretty spectacular!

Isn’t there a tradition that they will be entitled to fly the Jolly Roger when returning to port? Or is it hoisting the broom?

I believe its still a broom upon return to port, from a succesful mission.

I believe the broom signified all fishes fired, tubes are empty. A clean sweep.
Could very well be, all I ever did on a sub was get a ride.
One Uncle was on a Boomer, but I don't believe they shot any torpedoes in the years that he was in.

Do boomers have torpedoes ? Attack subs definitely. I would be surprised if a boomer was deployed for this.

Like so many cold war systems, boomers needed to adapt and find new roles since ending the world on command stopped being a steady line of work.

Word today, an Army Field Artillery Unit sunk both Iranian ships AND an Iranian sub.. Would love to see the video of them stenciling that on the side of their launcher.
