Does anyone know anything about the mobile home park? We’re looking for a mobile home and I was wondering about the area? Thanks

:yeahthat: It was sketchy back in the early 80's when my brother lived there. You do what you have to when you acquire a wife with a kid and start producing more right away, but even then there were pockets of lawlessness. Luckily he could afford to purchase a home shortly after moving in there, and he got the hell out of Dodge.

They are all terrible down there. Nothing wrong with living in a nice mobile home but those parks are the pits.

Now, is a great time to buy. I just noticed that one of my 8 backyard neighbors (because we live on the biggest rectangle lot in my neighborhood) plus the ones across the street just put their house up for sale today. I live in a fish bowl. :lol: Go for it! Take advantage of current times. I will venture to say there is no virus in the houses you look at. Good luck.

What about that small unnamed mobile home park along Hermanville Road,, just west of Green Leaf Road? I drive by it a lot and it seems like a fairly calm place. Never seen any news reports about it.

The problem with low priced housing is that while you may not be a dirtbag most of your neighbors will be.

I would rethink the mobile home if I were you.

The problem in St. Mary's is there is no low cost housing. Unless you are on public assistance.
If you were to rent in some of the dumps, section 8 housing, and were not on public assistance you wind up paying a cash price of over $1000 for the same dump that public assistance pays for.
Landlords can get away with because there is a shortage of good housing for under say 15000.
They just have to stay under the price of the better rentals.

Definitely would not by a trailer, resale is a loss, you aren't going to see the trailer appreciate over time, more than not, it will depreciate
Then you have the problem of the lot to park it on. That's where the land owner gets tricky, Some don't allow transfer of the lot with the trailer.

I would also stay away from condos. Anecdotal, but condos don't seem to move as fast as townhomes and single family homes.
