What in the world did I ever do to deserve HP, Norton, McAffee, Vista and whatever else to gang up on me.......

It started out with my screen going to black after the sign in.... then the black screen started to last longer every time I signed on.....

Then HP started working with me on the phone.... before it was over I had to tottally put my computer back to factory specs... and that has taken me over 24 hours.... finally my internet works, my computer works... and my printer works.... OMG what an aweful experience....

VISTA is poopy

I have VISTA and had the same problem. I kept getting the blue screen of death when ever the computer was left inactive for a period of time. After many calls to DELL to get an English speaking human being, it seems that the upgraded graphics card didn't like my monitor.....I had to install a patch......hopefully that will take care of the problem.

RULE # 1: YOU NEVER BUY A PRODUCT IN THE FIRST YEAR OR 2 OF IT'S RELEASE TO THE G.P.(Guinea Pigs or general public). Return it. Most of my friends feel the same way. They want to sue Microsoft. I think Microsoft OVER corrected themselves with this one.

Vista was free..........NOW I KNOW WHY!!!!!!!!!!!
Because no one wants and/or is buying Vista. At first Dell was offering Vista exclusively and they had to change and offer optional XP. They were losing business because of Vista. I went into Best Buy to get another computer and all they have is Vista. Sales guy tried to convince me that Vista was the best things since sliced bread. :lmao: I said, ":bs:."

After 8 hours on the phone with HP... and when my computer was a total wreck.... they offered to sell me a memory upgrade and a PC health insurace.... :coffee:

I might consider going back to XP as suggested.... might be calling on you Chess

thats fine no issues.. you can run xp fine with the machines they have out now... they usually come wiht a gig or two with vista...

why because vista requires it.. there are so many bugs and issues going on with vista i wont go for it for quite sometime...

I have 3 gig of ram on my laptop at home with vista and it still runs like a slug. My work laptop with xp, 1 gig of ram and a ton of nmci crap running in the background runs better. Part of it may be that my work laptop is a 1.8 gig core 2 duo and the home laptop is a 1.2gig amd 64, but with 3 gig of ram and very little running in the background, you would think it would run a bit better then a system with 500 meg of nmci crap constantly taking up memory.

Do yourself a favor..... go into the Power Control Panel and click on the Hibernation tab. If it's checked, uncheck it. I do that as a matter of course on all the PCs I control. There seems to be quirks with Hibernation and the video drivers on many PCs and laptops.
