Sunday Night Football..

Was hoping to enjoy it..

Never got a chance to see who the Eagles were playing before they put Vick on the field, and I changed the channel.

Well, no football for me to watch tonight.

If it helps you out, we can give you notifications when he comes in and goes out.

No thanks.. Either you support Vick or you don't.

I don't, so can't support any product or team associated with him..

I HOPE the NFL and the EAGLES notice a blip in viewers when he hit the field.. (thinking I'm not the only one disgusted that he's playing)

No. Either you are a zealot or you are not. I understand and respect your personal choices and I have zero problem with your zero tolerance for a scum bag like Vick.

However, I am a NFL football fan, not a specific league or division or team or player. I am with you that Vick has no business playing in the NFL, ever again. However, if I take that extreme and narrow a view of larger things I'd find myself in a cave somewhere. I consider Barack Obama far, far more offensive and egregious than Vick's actions. Bush, too, for that matter.

I turn the channel when I see Obama on too..

There's more than one way to "vote"..

After Kanye West's ridiculous comments in the wake of Hurricane Katrina (which no doubt hurt Red Cross' noble efforts to raise money to help the victims), and the NFL's decision to still allow him to perform at its NFL Opening Kick concert less than a week later, I was outraged at their choice to associate themselves with such a vile person, and didn't pay any attention to the NFL for a large part of that season.

Eventually though, I realized I was depriving myself pointlessly, and started watching again. I mean, it's football. As adult men, we need it - society won't let us go out there and test our manhood against each other, so we must relieve such impulses vicariously through watching (or directly through playing) it in a (somewhat) organized setting. There's a reason Rome had the Colosseum.

If it wasn't for the NFL, and boxing and such, I think we'd see more seemingly senseless man-on-man violence. (Okay, I'm only half serious about that.)

Truth is, a friend of mine who is a Cowboys fan had 2 tickets to the Redskins-Cowboys game, and it was an offer I couldn't refuse. Boycott over.
