I can remember when the halftime show was for us non-football fans. Now....what is a "Kendrick Lamar"? I looked up his "smash hit" and was like... :twitch:

This is why these kids are so enraged and gender confused - their music sucks.

... their music sucks.
I agree but I do remember my parents, aunts and uncles telling me that my music sucked back in the day. Different strokes for different folks.

I watch alot of the music vids "Top 40 hits of 19xx" Found that my sweet spot is 65-75 and the early 90s. Not sure why I didn't like most of the 80s music.

I loved the 80's music!

I love most of the music from the 60 thru the 80's. I was too busy being a disco dancing queen in the 70's, because I LOVED the 70's funk/disco, dance music, so I ignored some of the rock music. I'm re-discovering it now.

Going out listening to live music for the past 4, I've gotten to know some of the music of the 2000's and I like it ok, but I'm not into the angry metal music, or the vulgar, nasty music of whatsherfatass and others like her.

...and I really like a lot of the new country! :bann:

I like most eras and genres, and even some rap, but this generation in general really does have the worst music. When my son was younger I asked him who his generation's Elvis was. My generation's Elvis was Michael Jackson or Madonna. An iconic superstar who put out good music and defined the generation. And do you know what my son told me?

Justin Timberlake.

What he should have said was Beyonce because she's apparently the Millennial Queen. So think about that - their icon is barfy Beyonce. No wonder they're so pissed all the time.

Not sure anybody did...
My 80's music was Metal. I was a roady and light man for a local bar band and had a blast. There's nothing like waking up on a wooden pallet covered with moving blankets.

I am so very blessed
I love my son some kind of bad, but I am so disappointed and embarrassed by his taste in music. Like, seriously, how can this kid be mine?

He likes today's pop music (Sabrina Carpenter, Billie Eilish, Charlie XCX, etc.), and refused to listen to classic rock. This makes me sooooo sad. 😥

I blame Bob for this.

I'm often amazed at how much my kids know of my music era - and without my knowledge or input.

Granted - SO MUCH is in movies, commercials and so on. My son knows "The Immigrant Song" because they play it pretty much every time Thor jumps into action - he knows "Mr Blue Sky" because Groot dances to it in the second Guardians movie.

But my daughters will often sing tunes from artists of the 70's and 80's - and 90's - and they're songs *I DON'T KNOW*. Older daughter likes music by Sade (she called her "SAYED") and the Raspberries. Son will sing songs by ELO and Rush. Ok, baby girl will listen to stuff like BTS but that's her.

NFL is so anti-Trump I wouldn't be surprised to have Rage Against the Machine at halftime.
Unfortunately it's more probable to have the entire cast of Rocky Horror Picture Show in costume performing.

lets see here..... have the referees and line judges been trained in the proper use of the yellow flags? I heard they each have two sets of flags, one has wd-40 in the material, the other has been sewn to their pants.
have they been advised, (warned) that their careers are provisional based on a degree of blindness?

we shall see.

I chaperoned my kids' middle school dances and the end of night song was always...."Kung Fu Fighting". The kids didn't realize that was a song from MY childhood, they thought it was contemporary.

Our generation had the best music. Some of it was dreck but Bob Seger holds up to this day, as does Van Halen, AC/DC, ZZ Top, KISS, the Clash, Talking Heads, Queen, Priest, Def Leppard, Tom Petty....pretty much all the stuff I listened to back in the day, young people today like it too.

And yet - it's NFL players doing the "Trump Dance".

But the tops are most assuredly NOT doing the Trump dance.

Also we're finding out that the Democrats have been paying news outlets with our tax dollars to shill for them, so who wants to bet they were also paying the NFL and other pro sports leagues?
