Surprising dogs breeds to be wary of

I'm not surprised in the least. Smaller dogs are notoriously more yappy and aggressive. I've been bit by a chihuahua (sp?) that came up from behind me and got the back of the thigh. He wasn't trying to protect anything, he was just being a mean little buggar. Too bad he was too small and fast for me to kick the crap out of him for it. :ohwell:

When I was a wee lass (back in the olden days) my neighbors dachsund would go out of its way to come over into my yard, sneak up on me, and bit me. I have scars on my shins to this day. My Mother finally told the neighbor that the next time it happened she was going to shoot the little black S** of a B****! Miraculously, the dog didn't get out anymore. :lmao:

In My Opinion
Chihuahuas ranked second on the list of aggressive dogs, while Jack Russell Terriers came in third.:killingme:killingme:killingme:killingme

I truly believe my Shih Tuz would take someone on:whistle:. She can be cranky and will snap at the Lab in a second:lmao:. She will back the 87lb dog into a corner:diva::lmao::lmao:

My little shih tzu's have never tried to bite anyone, no aggression whatsoever. I found it astonishing when my 110 pound lab mixed was attacked by a pit bull, the shih tzu went off trying to protect her :faint: The lab survived, just barely. The shih tzu was too quick for the pit to get before I could grab him and shove him back into the house, but his spunk to save her was impressive. There was no way he would have survived that and I'd be sitting in jail after I got done with the pitbull owner. I did threaten her that if I EVER saw her dog anywhere near my house again, it wouldn't survive the second time.

We had a doxie that attacked me once. Seriously. There was a muffin that the kids dropped on the floor next to our bed. I reached down to pick it up and unbeknown st to me Buster had been lurking. Waiting. Stalking. Viciously attacked my hand. I had to beat him off. He got Cameron once when he was picking up a piece of chicken. We gave him to my mom. :lmao: He was a bastard.

I have a shih tuz mix and he can take the pug twice his size any day!!!!

I think a lot of people do not realize that small dogs are not always the best choice with kids. We lucked out our dogs as they are both very good natured with our kids. I could never imagine the pug ever snapping and the shih tzu never has--he just gets up and runs away.

That being said I'd like to see the stats of people who almost died or actually died from a 'hot dog' dog bite.

My parents wiener dog hates children. He will not allow a child to touch him. My kids are a different story...he loves them. He grew up with them from a pup. He will sleep cuddled up next to them and will allow them to carry him like a baby. Let another child try this and he will bite them.

I have two Greyhounds. They never show any aggressive tendencies....but, I never allow children to get in their face. They are very large dogs and if they were to bite, they could take a childs face off.

I love greyhounds. They follow you from room to room but just lay there next to you. Not bothering you, or up in your face. Just chillin' in the same room.
