I found this pretty interesting. I personally only download for free those songs that I like, but wouldn't purchase the CD to have. Most people don't follow that same habit, but it appears the music industry may not be suffering as much as they claim to be.

I’m into Anime Soundtracks and J-Pop. US releases are rare and ordering imports is risky. I have ordered some, but all I got were Hong Kong bootlegs. I’d rather download than give my money to a bootlegger.
