PGPD Suspect in 2021 Fatal Shooting in the Town of Bladensburg in Custody

The suspect wanted in connection with a fatal shooting in the town of Bladensburg in 2021 is now in custody. The suspect is 27-year-old Christian Valdivieso-Paz of Temple Hills. He is charged with fatally shooting 33-year-old Christian Artiga of Alexandria, Virginia.

On May 15, 2021, at approximately 3:10 am, officers responded to a shooting in a parking lot in the 5600 block of Annapolis Road. Officers located the victim suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Through the course of the investigation, detectives identified Valdivieso-Paz as the suspect, in part due to information provided to the Prince George’s County Crime Solvers program. The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.

The suspect is charged with first degree murder and related charges. He is in the custody of the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status.
