The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit charged a suspect in connection with a recent fatal shooting in the city of District Heights. The suspect is 54-year-old Dwayne Houge of District Heights. He’s accused of fatally shooting his roommate, 41-year-old Harold James Roberts, Jr.
On November 9, 2023, at approximately 10:10 pm, officers responded to an apartment in the 6700 block of Alpine Street for a shooting. The victim was located suffering from a gunshot wound. He died of his injuries on November 10, 2023. Officers took the suspect into custody at the scene.
The preliminary investigation revealed the suspect shot the victim during an argument.
Houge is charged with first and second degree murder and related charges. He is in the custody of the Department of Corrections.
The Prince George’s County Police Department investigates all homicides that occur in the city of District Heights.
