PGPD Suspect in Custody in Largo Fatal Shooting

Prince George’s County Police Homicide Unit detectives charged a suspect in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred in September. The suspect is 21-year-old Malik Watson of Upper Marlboro. He is charged with fatally shooting 27-year-old Craig Rogers II of Bowie.

On September 20, 2024, at approximately 1:10 pm, officers responded to the 1000 block of Largo Center Drive for the report of a shooting. Once on scene, they located Rogers II in the roadway suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

The preliminary investigation revealed Watson shot the victim before fleeing the shooting scene. The suspect and victim were known to each other. The motive remains under investigation.

Watson is charged with first and second-degree murder and other related charges. He is in the custody of the Department of Corrections.
