Homicide Unit detectives arrested the suspect in the fatal shooting in Oxon Hill that occurred Sunday night. The suspect is 21-year-old Rondell Fletcher of the 3500 block of 13th Street in Southeast Washington. He’s charged with shooting and killing 22-year-old Tyamonee Johnson of Locksley Road in Fort Washington. On December 30th, at approximately 7:40 pm, officers were called to the 1700 block of Mystic Avenue for the report of a shooting. The victim was located outside suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
This is a domestic-related homicide. The preliminary investigation reveals the suspect shot the victim during a dispute over a third party.
Fletcher is charged with first and second degree murder and related charges. He’s in the custody of the Department of Corrections.
