Prince George’s County Police Homicide Unit detectives charged a suspect in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred in late September. The suspect is 33-year-old Frederick Stevenson of Washington, DC. He is charged with fatally shooting 30-year-old Daryl McCall of District Heights.
On September 27, 2024, at approximately 7:40 pm, officers responded to the 5100 block of Indian Head Highway for the report of a shooting. Once on scene, they located the victim in a parking lot suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene. A second man was also shot and taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The preliminary investigation revealed Stevenson shot the victims during a dispute. The suspect and victims were known to each other.
Stevenson is charged with first and second-degree murder and related charges. The PGPD’s Fugitive Unit, with the assistance of the U.S. Marshal’s Capital Area Regional Taskforce and the Metropolitan Police Department, located him and took him into custody in Washington, DC. He remains there pending extradition to Prince George’s County.
