The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit charged a suspect in connection with the murder of his girlfriend. The suspect is 38-year-old Michael McClanahan of Suitland. He is accused of the murder of 44-year-old Sherron Turner of Suitland.
On April 24, 2025, PGPD patrol officers conducted a welfare check at the couple’s home in the 2300 block of Ewing Avenue. Officers located the victim inside of the apartment deceased. Her body was wrapped in plastic and partially covered in concrete. The Homicide Unit was notified and assumed the investigation into her death.
On April 26, 2025, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner determined the victim died due to blunt force trauma. The manner of death was ruled a homicide. Based on the autopsy results and their investigation, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for McClanahan.
McClanahan is currently in custody in Washington, DC. The Metropolitan Police Department arrested him on April 25, 2025, on unrelated charges.
In Prince George’s County, McClanahan is charged with first and second degree murder and a charge linked to attempting to dispose of her body after the murder. He remains in custody in Washington, DC, pending extradition to Prince George’s County.
