The suspect wanted for a recent homicide in Landover is in custody. The suspect is 23-year-old Christopher Allen Brown, Jr., of San Francisco, California. He is charged in connection with the murder of 44-year-old Dameon Broadus of Landover.

On August 25, 2022, at approximately 3:40 pm, patrol officers were called to the 3200 block of 75th Avenue for a welfare check. Officers discovered Broadus in his apartment suffering from trauma to the body. He was pronounced dead on the scene. An autopsy determined the cause of death was sharp force trauma and the manner a homicide.

The preliminary investigation revealed Brown and Broadus were known to each other. A motive for the killing remains under investigation.

Following the murder, Brown fled the region. With the assistance of the San Francisco Police Department as well as the U.S. Marshals Service, Brown was taken into custody in San Francisco on Tuesday. He remains in custody there pending extradition to Prince George’s County. He is charged with first degree murder and related charges.
