Of course, skipping a COVID vaccine does not mean that someone will get into a car crash. Instead, the authors theorize that people who resist public health recommendations might also “neglect basic road safety guidelines.”

Why would they ignore the rules of the road? Distrust of the government, a belief in freedom, misconceptions of daily risks, “faith in natural protection,” “antipathy toward regulation,” poverty, misinformation, a lack of resources, and personal beliefs are potential reasons

The premise itself is colossally stupid. But, it's also Canadians, so...

The data depends on the idea that traffic accidents and fatalities are always the consequence of people disobeying rules.
I've been in three - and in each case, the other person hit ME while I was just minding my own business, driving normal like everyone else.
My parents were killed in one - because my Mom had a unexpected seizure while driving. So the idea behind it is already wrong.

I do think that people who disregard public safety rules ARE very likely to engage in higher risk behaviors - like going outside their home.
Paranoid COVID mask wearers can barely be coaxed to do anything.

Oh wow - read further about trying to make a connection between driving accidents and taking the FLU VACCINE. Oh dear God.
Is it mandated? In this country, it's just a suggestion, and no one hammers you or threatens you to lose your job if you don't get a flu shot.

I got the first one IN MY LIFE in 2020 during the pandemic. I've never seen the need.

I also just got the 1st. Then they started talking about boosters and I thought, they said we'd only need one. Now they keep adding boosters. I'll just get a flu shot.

My insurance just increased 30% due to speeding tickets. I supposed they're going to raise it again for being Trueblood. I did schedule the Shingles vaccine for Monday. Skipping the Flu vaccine this year.

I make certain assumptions about vehicles & their drivers. Like when I see a car that is all jacked up with multiple dents and duct tape holding parts on, I don't immediately think that they goes someone that has life figured out. I give them a wide berth because I don't want my ride ending up looking like their ride.
