Sweet Pitbull & her 4 puppies need foster home ASAP

Anyone able to help foster this mom and her pups? There is a mom pit and 4 - 12 day old puppies at the TriCounty Animal Shelter. They are scheduled to be euthanized ASAP but the shelter is trying desperately not to have to make that choice as the mom is so sweet. The mother is a small cinammon color girl, sweet, the puppies are all black with some white. The mother is on antibiotics for kennel cough. These puppies were born at the shelter.

I work with and assist with rescue groups that have connections at the shelter yes. All of the rescues are full but are trying very hard to take this mom as she is super sweet. Hopefully a foster home will open up for them as the shelter staff is trying hard to hold on to them as long as they can. So sad to think that this mom and her innocent pups will be put to sleep because of the irresponsibility and ignorance of a large portion of our society that has yet to embrace spay and neuter as a necessity.

I will have to find that out. Since she gave birth to the puppies at the shelter I am not sure how much she has been around the other dogs there or what if any info her intake form had about exposure to other dogs. I'll ask my contacts and post the answer in a few.

I believe it's a group. You can just take one of the puppies.

Ok..Just gave them a call. they never had any pit pups or mama. they dont deal with them there.

The shelter is checking on how the mother is with other dogs. Although the mother and puppies should not be kept anywhere near other dogs to begin with.

As most of us know, the shelter will NOT adopt pits or pit mixes to the public, they can only go through rescue.

Mom and her puppies were pulled last night and taken to a rescue in Northern Virginia that is newly established to rescue moms and pups from shelter's. Thanks to everyone who offered to help.
