Dish, same stuff, cheaper.
A couple years ago, went from Comcast to Dish, everyone said the problems with rain and wind with Sat. was over. BULLSHIAT. It rains a little and Dish goes down. I'm glad I didn't switch IP. Also I now have ROKU 3. great little device.

So your Dish goes down with a little rain, but you recommend it anyway? My Directv only has issues with severe thunderstorms and only while it is in the direct path between the satellite and dish.

I have Direct TV, never had Dish but read an article not long ago that listed Dish Network as one of the top 10 WORST companies to work for.

We need a third choice: neither. Comcrap and Metrocrap don't lose service in severe weather, and for Internet service they're usually faster. I was a DirecTV/DirecWay customer for years in St. Mary's county because the cable service was so horrible, but was getting faster service with dial-up Internet than with the satellite, and was very frustrated by weather-induced interruptions in TV service. Obviously there's more work to be done on the technology for satellite service.

I'm so happy for you, I could #### down both legs.

We have had very few issues with Direct TV. If we did have an issue, they were more than willing to give us some sort of free (HBO, Showtime, NFL, etc) service to "make up" for the inconvenience. Depending on where you live you may not have many options for your provider. We have Metrocast only for internet.

I've had both. I prefer DirecTV. They offered better packages and have less outage issues. I also use Metrocast for internet, satellite internet service not only sucks but they give you limits.

So why do you recommend Dish if you have problems with it? I recommend Directv because I don't have problems with it.

I said in the my post, it's cheaper. I did stretch it on a little rain though.

I would not say that losing sat. in a rainstorm is not having any problems, Like I said, both the same.
