Swimming Lessons

I have my son who will be 5 in June in a swim class with 3 other kids. The kids spend about 5 minutes in the pool while the rest of the time is spent on the side waiting for their turn. He is never going to learn to swim at this rate. I was thinking about private lessons and I just saw the posting for swim lessons here and am now considering one of the count classes.

Any thoughts?

personal opinion,

Great Mills pool is chilly-it's ok when you first get in but the kids' lips would be blue after10 -15 minutes- at least true for my 3 year old.

I had the same experience at the Annapolis Aquatics Center. I thought my son was just complaining becasuse he didn't want to take lessons until his lips turned blue - poor thing! He is at Bowie Sport Fit now and the pool is very warm. I just wish the classes were an hour instead of 30 minutes when there are 5 kids in a class and one teacher.

Registration started at 8:30am today so the kids and I were at the Fairgrounds well before then. The line was already into the parking lot. The first arrivals got there at 5am. Swimming lessons are important to me but not that important as to get up and over there at that hour. Stood in line for two hours but got both my kids in the classes I wanted with no problems.:cartwheel:cartwheel They were only allowing like 5 kids in each class so I was worried that I'd stand there for that long only to be told that the classes were filled.
