bohman and I are planning to change our pediatricianin the next few weeks. I'm assuming we need to get copies of our kids medical records. Do I just call in the current doctor's office and tell them I want copies?

I think when you go to the new doctor they have a medical release form you to fill out and they get them. The doctors when I went (adult doctor) wanted me to pay per page of my record so I just got my new doctor to get it which is a lot easier and cheaper.

Yeah...I have only ever asked a former doctor to transfer records when I was moving from one state to another. Other than that just have the new docs request info.

If the new doctor requests it it's free. If not, you have to pay per page. It's costly.

Thanks, everybody. :yay: Next comes the fun part: having the HMO switch PCPs at the correct time. Wish us luck!
