tae kwon do

In Wildewood (or is there any other places around here?) Oldest boy is bugging me to join and we're thinking of okaying it. Who can tell me their opinions of it?

Boy and I did it for 2 years. It is good and fun but not exactly cheap. Do a trial membership first to be sure he likes it. It is all cool and everything to some kids until they get kicked.

I've always prefered Tae Kwon Leap.

Tae Kwon Leap is not a path to a door, but a road leading forever towards the horizon. Let us meditate upon this wisdom now.

My son went to Blackbelt Academy for about a year. It's the one in Wildewood near JC Penney. He just got bored with it. It seemed like a good place. I wish he would have stuck with it.

How old is your son?

Walking for a cure!!
My nephew went there this summer for their day camp. He had a great time and really loved the instructors. He is going to start classes there the first of October. He is 9 & in 4th grade.

I was involved in the late '80s to early '90s. Both of my teachers were official champions, and they made it fun.

It was not easy - with a lot of stretching and pumping blood... and I did break a couple bones.

But I must say that one of my proudest childhood moments was getting a double promotion to yellow belt-green stripe after one test.

I would say if he wants to try it, let him. He will learn self-control, confidence and respect. Just make sure he is prepared to be hit, and to know that if he slacks off he will only get hit harder. Like Pete said, a trial would be good - or even to sit in on a class.

it's nice, the instructors are great, but they really need to clean the floors and put some fans in there or turn up the ac, it's really hot in there.

It is a good thing. It is not easy especially since he requires Korean terms.

Koreja Do Christian Karate

The school teaches "World Oyama" style of Karate and the best part is the Sensei (Teacher) charges nothing (thats right nothing) to the students. Come by Tuesday or Thursday evenings at 6 pm to just watch and decide for yourself.
