I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that my opinion is only going to be shared by a couple of simpletons that I have on ignore, but I'm not feeling the angst. I'm not going to blindly declare that there was an insurrection going on, also I'm not going to say the cop was right in any way, but this was a play stupid games and win stupid prizes. It was embarrassing to me to watch a bunch of hillbillies and halfwits decide that they were going to take over the capitol. Go in wander around, take some pictures, talk to the cops those things are cool, but when you decide to start breaking crap up and fighting with the cops you've crossed the line.
The cop was definitely in the wrong (no need to explain which one), but crazy Ashley was in no way in the right. Most of the morons who went in and decided that they wanted souvenirs deserve to be punished along the lines of community service, the ones that decided that wanted to get up in the cops faces or go mano e mano with them deserved to get their asses handed to them and a couple of weeks in the slammer.
The people who are going on about all of the cops dying are spouting hyperbole. A cop dying the next day of a stroke says more about how he lived for the last few years, not what happened yesterday. And then the ones that decided that the couldn't live with the horror of the "riot" and decided to off themselves tells me that the screening process is lacking in at least one category.
Crazy Ashley, from what I've heard about her and what the one person that I know who knew her, was a woman that you would cross the street to avoid, always with a list of enemies who've wronged her and plotting petty revenge.
I know you're judged by the company you keep and I hate like hell to be in with the group that agrees with me (you know who I mean), but agree with me or not, there it is.

The penalty for criminal trespass should not be death.

Notice you didn't hear all the de-escalate talk. Shoot her in the leg, use pepper spray instead, bean bag her.

Personally I would have went more towards the wood shampoo treatment.

I would think pepper spray in those close quarters would not have been a good idea. A baton to the back of the leg would have taken her down.

Ashli Babbitt was shot by a frightened cop who spent most of his time saying good morning to arriving Congress people and visitors. He had no business being a Lieutenant, no business being a cop. He was a frightened moron in a panic. He should have been held responsible and tried for manslaughter, but the lest they could have done was gotten him the hell off their police force. If basically security guards should be called a police force.

I dont think he was scared at all.

My guess is it was just plain ####ing evil glee that he had an opportunity to kill someone.

I don’t know which is correct, frightened or gleeful, but I always thought it was improper for him to discharge his firearm into that crowd like he did.

In a cop audit video I watched last night, the lawyer analyst asked how is it that UPS, FedEx, and mail delivery people encounter thousands of dogs every day without issue, but when a cop encounters one, the dog seems to end up dead. Things that make me go hmmmmm.

In no way am I comparing Ms. Babbit to a dog - I'm just pointing out how different people handle different situations.

Is J6 gonna be another one of those “holidays” like 9/11? Will we all remember 20 years from now what we were doing when J6 happened? Will the news stations replay the full broadcast footage every year?

If I may ...
For your consideration ...

Ashli Babbitt was shot by a frightened cop who spent most of his time saying good morning to arriving Congress people and visitors. He had no business being a Lieutenant, no business being a cop. He was/is a frightened moron in a panic. He should have been held responsible and tried for manslaughter, but the lest they could have done was gotten him the hell off their police force. If basically security guards should be called a police force.

Apologies for the edit ......

She was shot by a racist black POS who made it well known, before Jan 6 was even a thought, that he was ready and willing to kill whitey.

I wish you would expand on this, I read alot of right and left news, and I really haven't run across much in the way of 'Crazy Ashley' on either side of the news speak. I wasn't there on Jan 6 but friends that were said they didn't see much except for agitators that appeared to be looking for trouble and were mostly ignored. I was in DC for alot of Nam demonstrations where there was a ton of violence but all the newsfolks considered the whole thing a 'demonstration' and not a resurrection. (granted that was a different time). No problems with your opinion, agree with some, disagree with some, but really curious about the Crazy Ashley part.

The first time Celeste Norris laid eyes on Ashli Babbitt, the future insurrectionist had just rammed her vehicle three times with an SUV and was pounding on the window, challenging her to a fight.
This was up in Prince Frederick. Sharon the person that I know that knew her thought that this was the incident that she saw. It wasn’t, apparently when she gets in a mood she attacks them with her car and has a screaming fit.
