Still much work to be done in Afghanistan....

Feb 27, 2007 — WASHINGTON (Reuters) - It is unclear how a suicide bomber was able to get close to a U.S. base in Afghanistan where Vice President Dick Cheney was staying, the White House said on Tuesday.

"At this point, people are still investigating what happened, so we don't have a firm answer for you," White House spokesman Tony Snow told reporters.

Up to 14 people were killed, including one American and one South Korean soldier, in an attack on the Bagram base rebels said was aimed at Cheney. A U.S. official said Cheney was about half a mile away on the base and never in danger.

Yeah - I know... Now should be the time when we send more over there. We should start sending official after official to Afghanistan because now is when they're needed the most.

I remember that when things got heated in Somalia and Haiti, you couldn't get Gore out of there with a crowbar!!!

And he still had time to create the intarweb.

If that was an attack aimed at getting Cheney, I'd say we have nothing to worry about from the Taliban.

And I'm sure Rice will go back there. She's more a man then you'll ever be.
